Highlanders 12 – Joaquin Moraga 2
This week the 8th grade Piedmont Highlanders faced the Joaquin-Moraga Marauders. The Highlanders showcased some impressive defense when Grant Gadbois knocked a pass intended for a Marauder out of the air, and when Austin Sun sacked the Joaquin-Moraga quarterback. Ale Chiodo, Matt Baringer and Peter Lally all came up with interceptions for Piedmont. Tied zero to zero at the half, the Marauders came out and started the third quarter with a safety. Not to be outdone, Piedmont’s quarterback Chad Finkel led two separate drives, one ending with a run into the end zone by Finkel, and the other with a bullet pass from Finkel to Matt Baringer.
