Highlanders 6 – Longfellow 0
On Monday, September 21 at San Pablo Park, the Highlanders won their first game of the season by shutting out Longfellow. The defense was led by a fierce pass rush from Hunter Abel, Michael Pacult and Paul Kim. Safety Drew Bonnin made several touchdown-saving tackles to keep Longfellow out of the end zone. On offense, QB Sam Hunt moved the ball efficiently down the field and spread the ball around to a number of receivers. Midway through the first half, tailback Andrew Strauch took a hand-off sweeping left and then threw a touchdown pass to Dylan McBirney for the game’s only score.
