On Wednesday, May 26th the 6th, 7th and 8th grade B finals took place at Witter Field. There were 12 schools competing with over 200 kids.
BOYS
6TH Grade
In the boys mile, Zach Bloemker (6:10) and Mingwei Samuel (6:11) finished 2nd and 3rd. Bloemker (2:48, 1st), Samuel (2:58, 2nd), Kyle Bilorusky (3:04, 3rd) and Evan Hanke (3:13, 6th) represented Piedmont well in the 800m run.
7TH Grade
In the 7th grade boy’s 400m Max Canty-Hilchy finished 2nd running 1:12.6 and also finished first in the Long Jump with a 14-4. TJ Korotzer competed in the Shot Put with a distance of 17-9.5.
8TH Grade
In the 8th grade boys 800m Braeden Turner finished with a time of 2:55. 8th Grader Forest Wakeling ran the mile in 7:11. Jack Kossak ran a nice 100m in 15.16.
GIRLS
6TH Grade
Maura Phillips had an excellent day finishing 2nd in the long jump (10-9) and 100m (15.60). Alexandra Shoptaugh finished 2nd in the mile (7:09) and 3rd in the High Jump (3-6). Nicole Bilorusky finished 3rd in the mile (7:56) and 4th in the 800m. Megan Wilensky finished a nice 400m run with a time of 1:24.81.
7th Grade
Sophia Mills had a great day finishing 2nd among 7th grade girls in the 800m. In the 100m Remy Afong (15.37), Dylan Miller (15.7), and Hayden Payne (16.31) all ran well. In the 200m Afong (31.85, 3rd), Mills (33.22), Miller (33.70), and Payne (34.25) all ran hard in a huge field of 27 7th grade girls.
