After
a long holiday break, the 8th grade Scots were back on the floor taking
on Doris Eaton Middle School. The Scots showed a little rust as Doris
Eaton got out to a 7 point lead after the first quarter. Maddie Wolfe,
Avery Bouch, and Kerry O'Connor kept up the scoring in the second
quarter for the Scots, but still found themselves down 9 at the half.
There were terrific rebounding performances in the second half with
everyone getting in the score book. Claire Laymon, Siobhan Mitchell,
and Virginia Taun led the way and had 11, 6, and 5 rebounds
respectively. Nina Adarkar and Angela Zhou both played shutdown defense
and Meredith Meagher had 2 blocks. In the end, the more aggressive
Doris Eaton team won the game 28-16.
