Peter Wresen had a nice showing in the High Jump (3’10”). Elijah Levy ran a very strong 800m (3:10). Joseph Chu finished 2nd in the 400m (1:14). Hunter Stern (15.03) and Max Lee (16.57) ran impressive 100m races. Emmet Smith ran with the first place finishing 8th grade 4x100m team (53.3) and ran the 200m (28.3). Owen Barry ran with the first place finishing 7th grade 4x100m team (58.3).
The 4x100m team of Phillip Kim, Everett Ellis, Blair Whitted, and Owen Barry (6th Grade) finished in first place (58.3). Ellis doubled in the 400m (1:05.04). In the 800m, Alex Rickard (2:57) and Mingwei Samuel (2:52) both had strong season debuts.
The 4x100m team of Liam Schindler, Max Canty-Hilchey, Joey Wilhelm, and Emmet Smith (6th Grade) dominated the field (53.3). Schindler (27.47) and Wilhelm (28.1) both ran great 200m races. Miles Von Herrmann doubled in the 800m (2:51) and 1600m (6:17). Ryan Castle had a nice shot put of 34’.
The 4x100m relay team of Emma Nash, Eleanor Brown, Claire Laymon, and Sabrina Kim finished 4th in a very close race (1:03). Piedmont was well represented in the 100m and Long Jump by Nina Adarkar (17.47 and 8’6”), Olivia Creighton (15.61 and 8’4”), and Monty Miller (16.66 and 8’ 6”). Also long jumping, Laymon (8’5” ¼). Kim (16.0), Katy Savage (16.0), Nash (16.71), and Brown (16.7) also ran the 100m. Creighton (32.3) and Kim (32.9) doubled in the 200m.
Maura Phillips and Katie St. Clair joined the 8th Grade 4x100m relay team and finished first (1:00.25). St. Clair also did the long jump (9’4”), 400m (1:15). Phillips doubled in the 100m (15.31).
Remy Afong and Sophia Mills with St. Clair and Phillips finished first in the 4x100m (1:00.25). Mills also ran the 800m (3:03) and 200m (33.37). Afong ran the 100m (15.73) and 200m (32.91).
