On Tuesday, June 1st and Wednesday, June 2nd Piedmont Middle School took 8 kids to compete in the 7th and 8th Grade “A” Finals at Acalanes High School.
BOYS
The 7th Grade 4x100m relay team of Elliot Gordon, Joey Wilhelm, Dominic Frost, and filling in for a sick Liam Schindler was Miles Von Herrmann finished 3rd with a time of 56.31. In the 100 meters Wilhelm finished in 5th place with a time of 13.95 and Gordon finished 10th with a time of 14.47. Gordon also filled in for Schindler in the Long Jump (13-6, 3rd) and High Jump (4-6, 4th). In the 7th grade 200m Wilhelm (4th, 28.17) and Frost (6th, 29.31) both scored for the Piedmont team. Von Herrmann finished 5th in the 7th grade mile clocking in at 6:05. In the 7th grade 800 meters Michael Kuroda (5th 2:43) and Von Herrmann (6th, 2:44) both finished with personal bests.
GIRLS
Piedmont only had two girls compete but they both had outstanding days. Alaina Martin won both the High Jump (4-8) and Triple Jump (33-10) and she took 2nd place (13.70) in the 100m. Martin won the individual championship for 8th grade girls with 28 points. Emilie Davis also had an impressive day finishing 4th (14.69) in the 100m, 4th (4-0) in the High Jump, and 2nd (12-9.5) in the Long Jump. Davis finished 5th overall in 8th grade girls with 15 points.
